LES MYSTÉRIEUX TOUTOUS
One drop of medicine... and Grégoire’s stuffies come to life, sowing surprise all over Montreal!
THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT:
Grégoire has decided to donate the profits from the sale of his book to Leucan and the Children’s Foundation to support research and to thank the Montreal Children’s Hospital for everything it has done for him.
He also hopes to be able to give a copy of this little book to every child hospitalized in oncology, to bring a smile to their face.
A big thank you to illustrator Jean-Paul Eid, who was moved by the story and the project. He was the one who came up with the idea of forming a team of 14 illustrators. Thank you for overseeing this part of the project.
I would also like to thank all the illustrators for their wonderful drawings: Élodie Duhameau, Pascale Constantin, Jimmy Beaulieu, Julien Paré-Sorel, Chloé Baillargeon, Annie Groovie, Rémy Simard, André Martel, Caroline Lavergne, Laurie Forest Lechasseur, Jacques Goldstyn, Laurent Pinabel, Pascale Sévigny-Vallières, and Jean-Paul Eid.
Thank to Marylee Bernard, graphic deseigner, who took charge of the layout of the book.
And finally, thank you to the teacher at the hospital, Marie-Josée Longpré, for all her help in making the book.
FOREWORD:
This book stems from Grégoire’s rich imagination and his immense desire to learn. Despite the many treatments and unpleasant side effects that have affected his daily life since January 3, 2024, Grégoire is still motivated to learn at the hospital school.
This project began on January 20, 2025. Grégoire had just spent the weekend in the intensive care unit. I suggested that he invents a story that day. I didn’t expect such a burst of energy after a weekend that exhausting. He started reciting his ideas so fast that I couldn’t write them all down. We managed to finish the story and present it to his parents just before his departure for Toronto on February 2, 2025. Grégoire had been waiting for several days to leave for SickKids Hospital to receive a new medication, the one mentioned in the story.
Upon his return to Montreal on March 14, 2025, the idea of publishing the book became a reality. Thanks to several generous contributors touched by Grégoire’s patient journey, the project was finalized. Thanks to all of them! But most of all, thank you Grégoire for your boundless curiosity, your wonderful alertness and your immense thirst for learning, which pushes the limits of my work every day. I feel privileged to be your teacher. You are for me a great source of motivation and joie de vivre.
