The following cartridges may not be recognized by your printer if the automatic update function has not been deactivated.
This issue applies to all compatible cartridges because as copies, they do not contain an electronic chip manufactured by EPSON:
COLOR | COMPATIBLE | ORIGINAL |
(T314XL820) | T314XL820-S | |
(T314XL720) | T314XL720-S |
The cartridges in this series work with the latest update below:
Our recommendation is not to never update your printer. Updates can be important but by deactivating the automatic update, you'll have the choice of deciding when to do it, depending on the chip version of the cartridges you've purchased. You have more control.
It's best to update when your cartridges are in the printer. Once the cartridge is installed, it's safe to update. As soon as the cartridge is removed from the printer, it will no longer be recognized if your printer has been updated.
When you order a new cartridge from us, you will always receive a cartridge whose chip is functional with the latest update version. |
Your EPSON printer is targeted to receive automatic updates more frequently. Once this update has been accepted, your cartridge may not work. Our products are not guaranteed against your printer updates, as it is your responsibility to to manage them.
Here's a simple video explaining how to disable automatic updates. If you did not deactivate it, we recommend purchasing only Original cartridges. You will not be able to use Compatible cartridges.
1. Use the Windows search bar to search and open the ‘Epson Software Updater’
2. Select your printer model from the list, if necessary.
3. Click on the ‘Auto-update settings’
4. Select ‘Never’ from the drop-down menu on the ‘Interval to Check’ column to turn off or disable the auto firmware update.
5. Click ‘OK’ and then ‘Exit’ button to save your new settings.
1. Right-click on the Epson printer icon on your Windows Taskbar.
2. Select the ‘Software Update Settings’ from the list.
3. Select the ‘Never’ option and then ‘OK’ to save the setting.
In the meantime, we invite you to check the settings of your printer and compare the current version of your printer with the one provided above.
